1 We learned how to program simple steps in Alice. We also learned that it is hard to think every step to make our character move. Kalin learned it is hard to teach.
We learned what Alice is. That it is a series of moves that you can use for your character.
We learned who invented Alice.
We learned simple steps to programming a robot.

2. Can you add a world to a world like you would a jigsaw program?
I need another explanation between a pose and a method.

3. Today we all worked on a section of our story. Tomorrow we plan on putting it all together. Each person adding their part. Because we cannot use two worlds together it means we have to re-create from scratch.
Worse than shooting a movie because we cannot splice it together.

Day 2
We learned how to make animations, we also learned to use the camers.

We would like to know how to make characters walk. We would also like more time to learn how to get an object go around another object.

We hope to finish our project tomorrow but since we are nearly finished we would like to fine tune what we have and add to it (sound, more time with talking etc).

Billy has his Missing Spaceman done! Yeah

Izabell and Josiah worked hard on their Man meets Alien project.

Today we put together all that we have learned. I think using the PPT tutorials AND Alice at the same time (working in pairs; tutorial on one - computer project on another) was the way to learn Alice as opposed to watching videos and then trying to remember what we saw. I appreciate the fact that our fearless leader, Pam, thought there could be a better way after the first session.

Our students think that with a bit more planning and a lot more time they can improve their project. They want to make it do more and flow smoother.

We had a wonderful four days at STLP Camp at U or L. We feel lucky that not only did we get to come both days, but we could bring more than 2 students. I now have 6 STL's to impart their new knowledge to our STLP Group next school year. We are all looking forward to showing our group our efforts and showing them how it is done. Maybe we can get present projects at STLP regionals.

Thanks to U of L, Steve Swan, Diana Sterling and Pam Caudill. It was a stupendous 4 days and we appreciate all you did for us. Signed, Watson Lane Elementary STLP students and facilitator.

Extra thanks to Kalin Jackson for helping our school and for making himself available to all in the lab.
